What is The Pokémon Trading Card Game?
Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is a card game that’s played worldwide. It’s known for it’s unique mechanics, card varieties, additional playing equipment like specially-designed coins, and most of all, the designs and rarities of some cards.
The basic rules of the game is that you have a deck of 60 cards. You need Pokémon that can be played at the beginning of the game. You need to knock out your opponents Pokémon and claim prize cards, which are claimed by defeating Pokémon. There are many ways to win. You win if you collect all six prize cards, knock out all your opponent’s playable Pokémon, or cause them to run out of cards they can draw from their deck, an important game mechanic.
A lot of cards have rare variants that feature a different art style or material of the card. For instance, the regular card will be cardboard, while the rarer version will be made of foil and the art covers the entire card, including going behind the text.
You can collect Pokémon cards either to play the game or simply just to collect them. Most people collect Pokémon cards simply because they’re popular, but they can be enjoyed regardless of why you’re collecting them!
